How India lost from a Dominating place
Despite being in the commanding position in both the innings of 1st test against england , India manages to lose that match with a margin of 5 wickets. Losing and winning is part of game , but how India lost from a Dominating place ?Its is the way england chased 371 against India on the final day is a thing to talk , England did not look Uncomfortable throughout the match , the chase was butter smooth.
India , in the first innings , has some very strong position , standing at 431 runs for only 3 wickets , India could have eyed on 600+ runs but a strange collapse happend and India lost next 7 wickets just for 31 runs. The second innings begin and India came to bat , with a good start and players scoring centuring on the 3rd day India was still in a good place , at the end of Day 4 team India were All out fro 370 runs , giving the target of 371 to England with a Deadline of 96 overs
This was not the first time team India is facing this , we are seeing all the recent test series , getting whitewashed at home after 12 years from NewZealand , to Loosing BGT 3-1 after 5 years, India is not learning from past mistakes , instead , management loves to play blame game.
But things didnt went as plan , as English batters came to bat , they made the chase look so easy , like a bite of cake. England completed the chase with 5 wickets in hand and 24 overs spare.
How India Lost ?
There could be various reasons that resulted in India’s loss.
- Captaincy : Shubman Gill was captaining for the first time in text , so its possible that things did not went as plan he was thinking , so blaming him is not fair , but still being a captain of a national test team , a person should be active and aware about the game.
- Batting : Now even though Indian batters did a really good job with bat , there is still some loop wholes which needs to be figured out and fixed quickly , like the collapse after being in so much good position , which can be seen from past matches also.
- Poor Fielding : Apart from evreything , poor fielding has become a part of ICT , too many dropped catches shows that players are not taking the game serious as they should be.
- The Number 4 : This is a part of debate from more than a Decade that who is going to be the number 4 batsman , but no proper solution is found.
- Bowling : In the whole match , team India’s bowling remains the thing to talk , Indian bowlers seems unaware of how to use the condition , in the second innings even Jasprit Bumrah went wicket less.
- Coaching and selection : Last but not the least , the coaching team should also asked about their decisions , we can see from past few serieses , the team management has took some very unexpected or unsuitable decisions for the team.
